Vimta Labs in pact for Ph.D. programme

Hyderabad, March 22

Vimta Labs Ltd has tied up with Deakin University, Victoria, Australia to offer Ph.D programme for post-graduates in biology, chemistry, biotechnology and other relevant areas. During the four-year programme, the research scholars would also spend three/six months at Deakin University which would award the doctorate, Dr Mahanandeeshwar Gattu, Vice-President (R&D), told newspersons here. “Initially four students would be taken but later the intake will go up to 25 ,” he said. The research scholars would need to spend minimum of eight hours a day at Vimta Life Sciences, Genome Valley here and would be given a fellowship of Rs 15,000 a month. “The results of the Ph.D and related intellectual property will belong to Vimta Labs,” he added.
