RINL chief appeals for cooperation

Visakhapatnam, April 1

Mr P.K. Bishnoi, the Chairman and Managing Director of the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), has appealed to the staff, senior executives and the unions to co-operate with the management in improving productivity. He made the appeal at a meeting on Wednesday in the plant. He said the estimated sales turnover of the steel plant would be Rs 10,440 crore this year, surpassing the previous year’s, in spite of the global recession. He said the first half of the 2008-0 9 was a dream run, but the second half turned into a nightmare. However, the plant performed well against all odds. He said the management was looking for joint ventures and strategic alliances with various companies and discus-sions were going for securing captive iron ore mines that would help greatly in reducing the cost of production. He said the management would strive to ensure availability of steel to all sections of society. —
