Strategy States - Maharashtra Street Surfing enters Indian adventure sports market Our Bureau Pune, April 1 California-based Street Surfing, player in adventure sports, has entered the India market with is product offerings of surfboards. The company is entering the market with two products, wave and ripple. Talking to presspersons, Mr M.J. Rai, Managing Director, Titan Overseas Corporation and Mr S. Venkatraman, Director of Wealthtree, said TOC would be introducing the Street Surfing products in all tier I and II cities in a phased manner. The national roll out was kickstarted in Pune on Wednesday and would be moving on to Delhi and Bangalore during this month. Mumbai-based TOC is the sole distributor in the country for these products. Wealthtree, promoter of foreign sports goods, in the country is assisting TOC for the entry into the domestic market. Mr Venkat said the product wave would be priced at Rs 7,500 and ripple at Rs 6,600. He said these products were being targeted towards the children of age group between five and fifteen. Pointing out that there were hardly any good roads where street surfing could be played, he said it was targetting the skating rinks, newly developed housing societies which had good private roads, clubs, etc to be utilised as the place for street surfing. He said it was targeting a sales of about two million surfboards within the first year.
