L&T Q4 orders worth Rs 1,100 cr

Mumbai, April 1

Engineering and construction major Larsen and Toubro has bagged orders totalling Rs 1,100 crore in the electrical construction sector during the fourth quarter of this fiscal. The contracts from the Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) and Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd involve setting up of high-end transmission lines and substations, besides a project for the Railways. The PGCIL order involves construction of a part of the country’s first 800 kV transmission system fo r transmitting power from the North-East to the northern and western parts of the country. Extending across 190 km, the bi-pole transmission line, valued at Rs 169 crore will be executed for the section between Nidhaura village to Agra in Uttar Pradesh on the main line between Biswanath and Chariyali.
