Our Bureau Hyderabad, April 25 A city court on Saturday dismissed petitions seeking bail for ex-chairman of Satyam Computer Services, Mr B. Ramalinga Raju; his brother, Mr B. Rama Raju; and ex-CFO, Mr V. Srinivas. The XIV Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (designated CBI court), who heard the arguments on April 20 on the bail pleas, in his order on Saturday, dismissed their applications. While opposing the bail petitions, CBI counsel argued that bail to the key accused could lead to tampering of evidence and possibly manipulation of witnesses in the Rs 7,136-crore Satyam fraud. On the lie-detection test, counsel for Mr Raju had requested the magistrate to reopen the hearing on their earlier plea to exempt Mr Raju from the lie-detection test and brain mapping on health grounds. The magistrate posted the matter for April 28. On April 20, the arguments on the lie-detection test to Mr Raju were completed and the orders were posted for April 25. However, Mr Raju’s counsel wanted to further substantiate arguments for exempting him from the test and had sought re-hearing of the case.
