Pictorial warning mandatory on all tobacco products from May 31

New Delhi, May 6 It will be mandatory for tobacco product manufacturers to display pictorial health warnings on all tobacco product packs from the end of this month.

An official statement issued here states that the pictorial warning has to occupy at least 40 per cent of the principal display areas of the front panel of the pack. “No product shall be sold unless the package contains the specified health warning which shall be printed, pasted or affixed,” the statement adds.
