Maharashtra industry

The Maharashtra government’s claim that the State is still numero uno in industrial activity is almost farcical, as the people can see for themselves that not a single big industrial project has come up in many years in the State.

Neither is the power supply situation in the State getting any better.

To worsen the present economic slowdown, several projects are facing a bleak future and this has started impacting land prices, even in prime areas.

Erratic power supply, bad roads, corrupt bureaucracy and extortionist petty politicians have made industry unviable in most parts of the State.

All in all, the past decade can be described as the worst in the history of Maharashtra.
