New Delhi, June 15 The Petroleum Ministry has said that it is awaiting a copy of the Court order on RIL-RNRL case before it makes any comments.

Stating that it would be premature for him to comment as the Ministry has not received the copy of the order, the Petroleum Secretary, Mr R.S. Pandey, said “Only after receiving the order the implications can be studied.”

“Implications will also depend on what does the order stipulate on the commencement of gas supply,” industry officials said.

In fact, the Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM), which met on January 8, to decide on issues pertaining to commercial utilisation of NELP, had taken note of the production profile of KG-D6 field.

The production is expected to reach plateau of around 80 mscmd by 2012 and start dwindling from 2017 onwards till 2020.

Gas allocation

While allocating gas to the power sector, priority should be given to plants in Andhra Pradesh, while all the other power plants, which are connected to the KG D6 field, the EGoM had noted that subject to the availability of gas, necessary allocations would be made to power projects, including Dadri Power Project, that are in the pipeline.

This would be after receiving necessary clearance and permission as and when they are ready to commence production and without prejudice to the decisions of the Court cases, it had observed.
