British company opens facility

Kolkata, June 15

Electric Vehicle System, New Castle, Britain, launched its first unit here recently. The inauguration was done by Mr Simon Wilson, British Deputy High Commissioner. EVS is engaged in the manufacture of computerised panel board, electric and electronic parts of electric vehicles, run on rechargeable industrial traction batteries. It also supplies electronic controllers, chargers, transmission and other components for electric vehicles and forklifts and hopes to export produ cts to neighbouring countries, according to a company release.
