Globsyn to set up 6 campuses

Kolkata, June 17

Globsyn Business School plans to invest $8-10 million to set up six B-schools (five domestic and one international) within three years, according to Mr Bikram Dasgupta, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Globsyn. The institute, which has a campus each in Kolkata and Ahmedabad, would tap the private equity market to raise funds. “We are yet to finalise the locations of all the campuses but we plan to set up one in Bhubaneswar and one in Hyderabad soon. We have also set up a team for conducting research on cities such as Chandigarh, Chennai and Bangalore,” Mr Dasgupta told newspersons after announcing an academic tie-up with the US-based University of Evansville for an executive postgraduate management programme here on Tuesday. Singapore and Malaysia were the two countries that were being considered for an international campus, he said. The institute has 800 students and the number was set to touch 4,600 once the seven campuses are functional, he added. Talking about Globsyn’s second campus in Kolkata at Amtola, Mr Dasgupta said, “The land filling exercise has started and the architectural design has been approved.”
