The JSW Steel Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Sajjan Jindal, was awarded the 19th Willy Korf/Ken Iverson Steel Vision Award at the Steel Survival Strategies XXIV conference in New York for elevating JSW Steel to the select set of global producers. The award is named after Willy Korf and Ken Iverson who demonstrated vision, innovation and will power to alter the course of world steel. Mr Jindal said that global steel production and consumption numbers for May showe d that most regions were experiencing negative growth. The only exceptions were China and India. In China, the growth was almost flat at just 0.6 per cent, while India boasted a 9.5 per cent growth. “I feel very fortunate that at this time in the steel cycle, I am in India and expanding our business,” he said. —
