Wipro Furniture to launch ‘Startline’ range

Chennai, June 29 Wipro Furniture, part of Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting Group, enters the premium-end of the Rs 1,800-crore office modular furniture market. The company has roped in a London-based furniture designer Tim Wallace to launch ‘Startline’ designer furniture range.

According to Mr Parag Kulkarni, Vice-President (Furniture Division), Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting, the company is also set to launch a new range of high-end chairs and has signed on designers like Mr Eric Chan of New York and Mr Conrad Marini of Canada for the purpose.

“We have been mostly in the popular end of the furniture market, and with the ‘Startline’ range we are moving up the value chain to enter the Rs 400-crore premium-end of the market,” he said.

Wipro has also applied for four patents under the new range.
