L&T bags six orders worth Rs 1,230 cr

Mumbai, June 29 Engineering major Larsen & Toubro has bagged six orders aggregating Rs 1,230 crore from various companies.

These include four valued at Rs 1,031 crore for erecting electric transmission lines and construction work from the Railways, and two orders for Rs 199 crore from state electricity boards to set up sub-stations, the company said in a statement on Monday.

The projects will be executed by the Electrical & Gulf Projects Operating Company, part of L&T’s construction division.

L&T will build a 220 kV multi-circuit transmission line of 130 km for Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company (Mahatransco), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Maharashtra State Electricity Board, costing Rs 496 crore. The turnkey project to be executed in 24 months will strengthen the transmission system in the Mumbai metropolitan region.

A 400 kV double circuit transmission line of 224 km between Korba West and Khedamara (Bhilai) will be set up by L&T for Chhattisgarh State Electricity in two years at Rs 246 crore.

Power Grid Corporation has placed a Rs103-crore order for a 126 km, 400 kV transmission lines associated with the Northern Region System Strengthening Scheme – XIV and Rampur Hydroelectric Project. This will be completed in 25 months.

L&T will lay the third railway line between Panskura and Kharagpur in West Bengal in two years. The Rs 186-crore project of Rail Vikas Nigam will increase the freight traffic between Haldia and Howrah and suburban traffic between Howrah and Kharagpur.

Mahatransco has accorded a Rs 199-crore project to L&T for building two sub-stations at Tuljapur and Paranda in Maharashtra and Akola and Washim under the Akola circle of Amravati zone.

The company’s shares ended flat at Rs 1,615 on the BSE on Monday.
