Persistent to tap life sciences

Pune, June 29

Software product developer Persistent Systems will innovate with new technologies such as cloud computing, analytics and life sciences. Dr Anand Deshpande, Chairman and Managing Director, Persistent Systems, said the initial project would focus on data management and analysis of biomedical data. The services would initially tap the US markets. Dr Deshpande said that the revenue was Rs 593.83 crore ($127.84 million) for financial year 2009 against Rs 424.85 crore ($105.81 million) for financial year 2008, a growth of 39.8 per cent. The profit after tax for financial year 2009 had shown a decline of 20.5 per cent touching Rs 66.09 crore against Rs 83.17 crore for financial year 2008. - Our Bureau
