The State Government has introduced many welfare schemes for fisher folks, including the appointment of a Debt Relief Commission, launch of an interest-free credit scheme and assistance to about 100 self-help groups of fisherwomen for undertaking micro-projects under the ‘Theeramythri’ programme.
