Kolkata, June 30 eRevMax Group, the software service provider helping in competitive pricing for online hotel bookings, is looking at expanding its business in the country.

The country’s hotel industry, hit by downturn, was expected to adopt competitive price management techniques while opening up business opportunity for the company in days ahead, its CEO, Mr Reuel Ghosh, said here on Tuesday at a press conference.

Doubling headcount

“There is scope for both budget and five-star hotels to stay competitive in a downturn by managing price,” he said. The US-headquartered company is looking at doubling its headcount to 300 from the current 175 in the next three years. The company’s main development centre is located in Kolkata.

The online bookings of hotel rooms now account for over 20 per cent of total bookings in India, he said. Contribution of online booking was expected to be at par with the US and the European countries (50-60 per cent) in three years, he said, pointing out that the segment used to contribute only 5 per cent of the total sales three years ago.
