Software Interest gathering in cloud computing Hyderabad, July 1 Organisations across the globe are gradually taking to the cloud computing model, according to a survey by AppLabs. The software testing firm interviewed 104 representatives of `Global 2000 companies'. Cloud computing offers Web-based resources as a service to the users who do not need to know about the complex procedures involved. "At least 30 per cent of the companies have already adopted cloud computing and another 20 per cent are planning to do so in the next 12 months," an AppLabs press release said. "Analysis reveals that one-third of the respondents felt that lack of awareness was the major constraint in the spread of cloud computing. Another 21 per cent cited security concerns as a major deterrent for adopting it," it observed. - Our Bureau
