RINL expansion works launched

Visakhapatnam, July 2

The civil works of air separation unit, LD converter shell assembly in steel melt shop and equipment erection of six strands continuous-billet-casting machine (CBCM) in SMS 2 were inaugurated, on Thursday, by Mr P.K. Bishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director of the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited. The project is intended to enhance the capacity of the plant from the present 3 mt to 6.3 mt. Design, engineering, supply, erection and commissioning of 600 TPD air separation unit w ill be carried out by Air Liquide Engineering India Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad. The work on two LD converters will be done by a consortium of SMS Seimag, Germany, SMS India Pvt Ltd, Kolkata, and MICCO, Kolkata. Directors and senior officials of the steel plant, officials of Dastur Co and officials of executing agencies were present on the occasion.
