Hyderabad, July 2 Heritage Foods (India) Ltd, a company promoted by the family of Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has posted a loss of Rs 34.95 crore for the financial year ended March 31, 2009, against a profit of Rs 93.53 lakh in the previous year.

The retail business showed a loss of Rs 48.36 crore (before taxes), was partly offset by the profit of Rs 39.68 crore in its bread-and-butter dairy business

The company registered a turnover of Rs 790.87 crore against Rs 586.75 crore in the previous year, a company release said.

The promoters have pledged shares to the tune of 38 per cent of their holding in the company in the financial year 2009. The promoters held about 45 per cent in the company.

The company informed the BSE that the special purpose vehicle set up to produce power in Arunachal Pradesh had become its subsidiary.

Also, the board had not recommended any dividend for the year ended March 31, 2009.
