TTK Prestige has reported a lower net profit of Rs 3.51 crore for the quarter ended March 2009 compared with Rs 4.89 crore for the corresponding period last year. Last year, the profit was higher due to a Rs 2.9-crore income from sale of property transfer transaction. The company, however, recorded a higher growth in sales during Q4 with the income increasing by more than 30 per cent at Rs 85.32 crore ( Rs 63.28 crore). Despite difficult conditions, the company scored on i ts strategy of launching new products to strengthen its market leadership, said a company release. Its turnover during 2008-09 grew 22.46 per cent to Rs 416.21 crore (Rs 339.85 crore), recording the highest growth in a year. Profit after tax rose to Rs 22.38 crore (Rs 20.67 crore). Sales of core categories of pressure cookers and cookware reached an all-time high this year with 37 per cent growth.
