SSN Institutions awaits nod for varsity in Noida

Chennai, July 3 The city based SSN (Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar) Institutions is waiting for the Government approval to commence its university in Noida.

It will also wait for the educational reforms that the Union HRD Ministry plans to announce before starting the university, according to Mr Shiv Nadar, founder of SSN Institutions and of HCL Group.

SSN has a technical education institution, the SSNCollege of Engineering, on the outskirts of Chennai.

In the first phase, around Rs 600 crore will be invested by the SSN Educational Trust in the university that is coming up on 300 acres of land, he told newspersons at the college. Meanwhile, the SSN Institutions has constituted a management board and appointed Mr R. Srinivasan, Founder and Managing Director of Redington (India) Ltd, as the board’s Chairman. “The members of the board will include Mr Nadar and his daughter Ms Roshni Nadar. It will also include Dr V.S. Arunachalam, former scientific advisor to the Defence Minister, Mr T.S.R. Subramanian, former Union Cabinet Secretary, and Mr T.S. Purushothaman, former Chief Operating Officer at HCL Infosystems.
