PaperTech-2009 in Hyderabad

India can become a world leader in paper sector, the pulp and paper industry in the country holds huge potential given the lower consumption and production costs,” Mr Busi Sam Bob, Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department, Andhra Pradesh Government, said. At the inaugural session of PaperTech -2009 held at CII- Godrej Green Business Centre here, he said good infrastructure and support by the Government and best practices implemented by industry players made the State a leader in paper industry. ‘National & International Best Practices Manual - Pulp & Paper Industry’, a compilation of best practices of the pulp &paper sector was released at the session. Andhra Pradesh would soon become the ‘Pulpwood bowl of India’ and green cover is increasing rapidly, said Mr Pradeep Dhobale, Chairman, Energy Efficiency Council, CII - Godrej GBC. He appealed to paper mills to invest in measures that would bring down the energy consumption considerably.

The two-day interactive session aims to enlighten participants on the latest trends and technologies, best practices besides creating a platform for networking among stakeholders
