PerkinElmer bio-pharma centre

Hyderabad, July 9

PerkinElmer, Inc will be setting up a Bio-pharma Centre of Excellence here by October. The proposed centre would be the second high-tech facility in the country for the Massachusetts-based company. It opened PerkinElmer Technology and Innovations Facility in Mumbai last year. The centre would support research efforts in screening and profiling technologies. The new centre will enable the company to provide a special focus to the drug discovery market, thereby, strengthening its position in this market as a whole, and in particular, the southern region. PerkinElmer plans to expand its presence in India in areas such as pharmaceuticals, drug discovery, chemicals, petrochemicals, academics, biofuels, food and beverages. - Our Bureau
