Alstom gets Rs 265-cr Lanco order

Ahmedabad, July 10

Alstom Projects India Ltd (APIL) today said it has been awarded a contract worth Rs 265 crore by Lanco Infratech Ltd to install a new power plant on the Teesta River in Sikkim. The 500-MW plant, Teesta VI, will be connected to the country’s power grid. The order would be executed by Alstom’s hydro facility in Vadodara with the project scheduled for completion by 2013. Within the scope of this contract, Alstom Hydro will supply 4x125 MW Francis turbines and gene rators, the main inlet valves and control and protection systems. The contract includes design, engineering, erection, testing and commissioning.
