Mixed trend in spot rubber

Kottayam, July 18 The physical rubber prices showed a mixed trend on Saturday. Heavy rains during the past few days kept the market comparatively firm during the weekend session.

Covering groups remained moderately active on sheet rubber but the grade finished unchanged at Rs 99 a kg after hitting an intra-day high of Rs 99.50 a kg on early trades. The transactions were in a low key.

Futures slip

The August futures for RSS 4 slipped to Rs 97.22 (97.64), September to Rs 93.13 (93.83), October to Rs 90.11 (91.42) and November to Rs 89.50 (90.04) a kg on National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE).

Spot rates were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 99 (99); RSS-5: 97 (96.50); ungraded: 94 (93.50); ISNR 20: 88 (87.50) and latex 60 per cent: 81 (81).
