NeST debug probe for TI platforms

Our Bureau

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct. 30 The Opella-XDS560 JTAG probe launched recently Ashling Microsystems, a division of the NeST Group, has proved to be a hit with developers at Texas Instruments (TI).

Opella-XDS560 is a high performance JTAG debug probe supporting all TI platforms. The product has been successfully verified by TI in India and the US, a NeST Group spokesman said here on Friday.

“Ashling has an established reputation in development tools and we’re glad to cooperate with their development of Opella-XDS560,” said Mr Stephen Lau, Product Manager for Emulation Technology at TI.

“We are looking forward to continued close collaboration in the future,” he added.

Mr N. Jehangir, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of the NeST Group, said that the Opella-XDS 560 JTAG probe is a typical example of how NeST development facilities in Thiruvananthapuram have been effectively coupled with the manufacturing facilities in Kochi, and Bangalore to reduce the cost and time to market for the Irish subsidiary.

According to Mr John Murphy, Managing Director of Ashling Division, the company is delighted with the feedback from customers so far. It is planning to further broaden its ties with TI.

Ashling Microsystems is a broad-based technology provider operating in the areas of software development, electronics design and manufacturing, optronics and fiber optics, broadband and RF solutions, power systems and magnetics.

Thanks to its close cooperation with leading semiconductor vendors, Ashling is a leader in the embedded software development tools market. Ashling is located in Limerick, Ireland, with development centres at NeST, Technopark, and sales and support representatives worldwide.
