Suzlon Energy suffers Rs 185-cr loss

Chennai, Oct. 31 Suzlon Energy Ltd posted a loss of Rs 185 crore for the second quarter of this financial against a profit of Rs 17 crore for the corresponding period last year. Its income from operations fell to Rs 616 crore from Rs 2,226 crore.

On a consolidated basis, the company posted a loss of Rs 356 crore on an income of Rs 4,793 crore compared with a loss of Rs 23 crore on an income of Rs 6,921 crore for the corresponding period last year.

Suzlon informed the stock exchanges that it had an order book of Rs 8,285 crore, including Rs 7,600 crore of export orders. It was still in discussions to sell its stake in Hansen, the gear manufacturer.
