BEL net profit soars

Bangalore, Nov. 1

The Defence public enterprise, Bharat Electronics Ltd, has swung a Q2 net profit growth of 226 per cent growth at Rs 237 crore year on year. It had recorded a net profit of Rs 72 crore for the same July-September quarter of 2008. Net sales were 44 per cent higher at Rs 1,308 crore (Rs 911 crore). The scrip gained Rs 36 to touch Rs 1,435.05 on Friday.
