Medical & Surgical Equipments Opto Circuits net flat Our Bureau Bangalore, Nov. 1 Medical devices maker Opto Circuits (India) Ltd ended the second quarter of 2009-10 with a net profit almost static at Rs 38.9 crore (Rs 38.5 crore) year on year. Net sales grew 16 per cent to Rs 121 crore (Rs 104 crore). The company has eight subsidiaries in medical devices and information technology. Consolidated net sales grew by 18 per cent to Rs 255.73 crore, as compared with Rs 217.02 crore in the corresponding period of last year. Consolidated net profit grew 18 per cent to Rs 66.93 crore year-on-year and net group sales grew 18 per cent to Rs 255.7 crore year on year. Mr Vinod Ramnani, Chairman and Managing Director, said, “The strategic and long-term agreements signed through our wholly-owned US subsidiary, Criticare Systems Inc, have helped us to diversify our product portfolio and expand our presence in Europe, the US and Latin America.” For the six months ended September 30 this year, Opto Circuits earned a net profit of Rs 126 crore, 24 per cent growth year-on-year; and net sales were 23 per cent higher at Rs 486 crore. Opto’s products include digital thermometers, sensors, patient monitoring systems, stents and catheters.
