New Delhi, Nov. 1 Boosted by an improved showing from its technical textiles business, SRF Ltd posted a 16 per cent growth in its net profit for the quarter ended September at Rs 69 crore.

The company, which makes technical textiles and refrigerant gases and is a supplier of other fluorochemical products and polyester films, reported a growth of four per cent in revenue increased at Rs 524 crore during July-September 2009.

The unaudited financial results of SRF were taken on record by the company’s board in a meeting held on Saturday. The board also approved an interim dividend at 70 per cent amounting to Rs 7 a share.

Mr Ashish Bharat Ram, Managing Director, SRF Ltd, said, “Unlike in the past, the profit growth this time has come from a better performance of the technical textiles business... we hope the trend will continue in the future. In addition, with our capexes coming on line, we hope to see a higher increase in our topline as well.”

For the first six months of the current financial year, SRF posted a net profit of Rs 161 crore, a growth of 54 per cent. The company’s revenue at Rs 1,022 crore achieved a growth of 4 per cent over Rs 983 crore recorded during the corresponding period last year.
