Power States - Andhra Pradesh GVK Power’s net profit rises 45% Our Bureau Hyderabad, Nov. 1 GVK Power & Infrastructure Ltd (GVKPIL) recorded 45 per cent growth in net profit, as the three gas-based projects were running at full capacity from the KG basin gas supplies. Revenues were up 273 per cent for the quarter ended September 30, 2009, as against the previous quarter. The company closed with revenues of Rs 500.28 crore (Rs 114.17 crore) and net profit was Rs 44.24 crore (Rs 30.47 crore) for the second quarter. The Chief Financial Officer, Mr A. Issac George, in a statement attributed the spurt in income and net profit to all the three gas-based projects — the 464-MW Gauthami, the 235-MW Phase-I and the 220-MW Phase II of GVK Industries Ltd at Jegurupadu, which were functioning at full capacity. The Mumbai International Airport Pvt Ltd had registered an increase of 10 per cent in traffic for the second quarter compared to corresponding quarter last year.
