DCW Q2 net doubles

Our Bureau

Mumbai, Nov. 2 Chemicals manufacturer DCW has reported a net profit of Rs 21.7 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2009 against Rs 9.5 crore in the same period last year.

The company’s performance can be attributed to sales of excess power and strong performances in the Caustic Soda and PVC divisions, said Dr S.C. Jain, Chairman and Managing Director of DCW. The company’s net sales increased by 34 per cent to Rs 271.9 crore (Rs 203.5 crore) backed by healthy volumes across divisions. The company has an agreement with the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board to sell 28 MW surplus power up to May 2010.
