Letters ’Other income’ In the results for the July-September (2009) quarter, many banks have reported substantial growth in ‘other income’ that includes earnings from treasury operations. The Reserve Bank of India conducted the so-called open market operations during the period, buying old securities. Later, some of them were sold back as reissues in auctions at lower prices, incurring losses in the process.
