The sugar industry has recently been given the status of food processing industry which will help in its development.

When pricing is concerned, it is better to be left to the traders alone to decide. Micro-financing groups should have some tie-up with the farmers and sugar companies so that farmers can get payments in instalments. Moreover, an MoU can be entered into between the farmers and the sugar industry to grow the crop together.
