New Delhi, Nov. 3 Sony India announced on Tuesday that it plans to begin an aggressive marketing campaign in the country. The Sony India Managing Director, Mr Masaru Tamagawa, told reporters after the launch of the new Sony Vaio X series, “We are planning an aggressive investment into marketing in India. This fiscal we plan to spend $2 billion for marketing of all Sony products. The Sony Vaio X series notebook is being launched with Rs 15 crore marketing campaign along with it.” “India is the 10th largest country for Sony. Despite the contribution to the overall business still being less than 10 per cent, Sony India is a very profitable venture. This is why the India launch of the Sony Vaio X series coincides with the global launch of the notebook,” said Mr Tamagawa.
