Medical Institutions & Hospitals Money & Banking - Financial Institutions States - Andhra Pradesh IFC to help AP upgrade diagnostic services Our Bureau Hyderabad, Nov. 3 International Finance Corporation (IFC) will help the Andhra Pradesh Government to upgrade diagnostic services in three public sector hospitals with the help of the private sector. The hospitals – one each in Warangal, Kurnool and Visakhapatnam – will have advance diagnostic services such as dialysis forthe low and middle-income group people. “Through this initiative, we hope to make high-quality healthcare services affordable for the underserved groups,” Ms Rachel Kyte, Vice-President (Business Advisory Services) of IFC, said. Earlier, she signed an agreement with the State Government officials in this regard. Policy frameworkThrough its first infrastructure advisory health-sector project in India, IFC would support development of a comprehensive policy framework for public-private partnerships in the local health sector, an IFC press release said here on Tuesday. “We hope to leverage the private sector for improving public health,” Mr J Satyanarayana, Principal Secretary (Health and Family Welfare, AP), said. IFC’s advice would include identifying priority areas for healthcare partnerships, developing a strategy for guiding private investment in health service delivery and establishing guidelines for public-private partnership initiatives.
