Celebrity to spin off divisions

Chennai, Nov. 4

The Chennai-based Celebrity Fashions Ltd has informed the BSE that its board on Wednesday agreed in principle to hive off the various divisions of the company into separate entities. According to the information available with the stock exchange, the reasons for the hiving off are to give greater focus to the core business of each division, to strengthen competencies and to raise funds at a later date for growth of the businesses.The company said it has appointed Pricewate rhouseCoopers Pvt Ltd, Bangalore, and SBI Capital Markets Ltd, Mumbai, to advise it on the structure of the proposed separation.
