New Delhi, Nov. 4 IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, is set to launch a water footprint initiative with Jain Irrigation to allow the company to measure its environmental and sustainability benefits and identify ways to reduce its water consumption. The project is designed to demonstrate effective management of natural resources, particularly the benefits to farmers of water conservation.

“Water footprinting at our sites will improve our understanding of the social and environmental impacts and help us mitigate these impacts,” said Mr Dilip Kulkarni, President of the Agri Foods Division at Jain Irrigation.
