Kolkata, Nov. 5

The US Consulate in Kolkata, in collaboration with Academy Film Archive, the US, and Cine Central, Kolkata, is making special arrangements to provide one of the best packages of Elia Kazan’s films for this year’s Kolkata Film Festival beginning November 11, according to a US Consulate press release. The films to be screened will include Street Car Named Desire (1954), On The Waterfront (1954), Viva Zapata (1952), Gentleman’s Agreement (1947) East of Eden (1955) and Boomerang (1947). The screening of the films will constitute a centenary tribute to one of the giants of American cinema, Elia Kazan, by both American Centre and the Kolkata Film Festival, the release added.
