E-Governance Industry & Economy - Travel & Places States - Tamil Nadu Know passport application status through SMS Our Correspondent Madurai, Nov. 6 The Madurai Regional Passport Office has announced the launch of SMS facility to know the status of applications for the benefit of passport applicants. According to the Passport Officer, Mr Jose K. Mathew, to know the position, applicants can send an SMS from any mobile number to 94421-51518 in the format — STAT<space> File number (as given in the receipt). If the applicant has given the mobile number in column 9 of the application, automated messages would be sent, every time there was progress in the status of application.
