Radio/TV States - Other States Digitalisation of cable services New Delhi, Nov. 8 The Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Ms Ambika Soni, said on Friday that the Ministry is taking necessary steps to ensure the digitalisation of cable services to address issues such as visibility and carriage fees. A PIB release stated that to this effect, the Headend in the Sky (HITS) policy has been placed before the Cabinet for approval. The Minister was speaking at the first meeting of the newlyconstituted Consultative Committee of Parliamentarians attached to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Ms Soni informed the members that after consultations with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, draft guidelines for Phase III of FM radio services have been drawn up for consideration of the Cabinet. She said that the Ministry is laying adequate stress on popularising the Community Radio service. She further added that the regional Censor Boards would shortly be reconstituted. - Our Bureau
