Pepper futures decline on selling pressure

Kochi, Nov. 9 Pepper futures on Monday declined on some selling pressure and lack of buying support. Everybody is watching the market and and are said to be waiting for the impact of the north-east monsoon on the pepper growing areas. There were more sellers than buyers in the futures, which has also contributed to the declining trend.

On the spot, buyers were asking at lower levels but sellers were reluctant to sell. Not much activity was witnessed on spot market, sources told Business Line. November contract on NCDEX dropped by Rs 122 to close at Rs 14,756 a quintal. December and January fell by Rs 127 and Rs 125 respectively to close at Rs 14,957 and Rs 15,150 a quintal.
