Events States - Tamil Nadu FICCI entertainment meet to be a platform for global linkages Our Bureau Chennai, Nov. 10 Chennai is all set to host the first-ever (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) FICCI Frames’ Media and Entertainment Business Conclave dedicated to the southern entertainment industry. The two-day meet will begin on November 18. Announcing this at a conference here, the event Chairman, Mr Kamal Haasan, said the conclave will bring together eminent industry personalities from across the country and overseas, and is expected to cover almost the entire gamut of the entertainment industry. “As our endeavour would be to provide a platform to the industry to ideate, network and form global linkages, the forum will discuss topics as varied as film financing options to dynamics of digital cinema,” he said. According to him, the meet will aim at working closely with the entertainment industry and help develop its rich potential, to take up regulatory issues with the respective State Governments and the Centre, and also offer an opportunity for the industry to explore its global linkages. Besides identifying and seeking to address the issues facing the industry in India, the forum will release a report on southern entertainment industry based on a study done by Ernst & Young.
