Coimbatore, Nov. 11 Akash Lodha and Hiren Barai of St Jude’s Public School, Kotagiri, in the Nilgiris district were the winners of the TCS IT Wiz 2009 quiz held at Coimbatore on Tuesday.

Sibhi Kumaran and Gowthem Nachimuthu of SBOA Matric and Higher Secondary School of Coimbatore were the runners-up.

More than 800 students from Coimbatore and neighbouring districts participated in the quiz, which was based on information technology.

Mr Ravi Viswanathan, V-P and Head, Chennai Operations, TCS, said the competition has been gaining greater momentum and it witnessed keen contest since the youngsters of today were tech savvy.

Ms R. Nandini, MD, Chandra Group of Companies, presented prizes in the presence of Mr Viswanathan and Mr K. Jayaramakrishnan, V-P & Head of Global Alliances & Strategic Relationship, TCS.

While the winners were presented with a laptop each and a trophy, the runners-up were presented with portable DVD player and digital camera, apart from a trophy.

The six teams that it made to the regional finals were presented with various gifts.
