Our Bureau Bangalore, Nov. 11 Wipro Technologies will embark on a multi-city recruitment drive over the weekend to hire lateral employees with 2 to 14 years of experience for all its business units. Wipro will hold walk-in interviews in Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Noida and Kolkata on November 14 and 15, the company said in a press release. Wipro did not disclose the number of candidates it would hire, but said the recruitment drive was part of regular hiring in line with business demands. Wipro is more bullish than its larger counterparts about the business outlook for the quarter and the year ahead. The company has projected a sequential revenue growth of 2.5-4.5 per cent for the December quarter. Orchestrated event“We are having an orchestrated event across the country to provide applicants a quick process as well as allow them to consider opportunities in other cities, by attending the interview in their own city. We are looking to meet applicants across skill requirements in all our business divisions with experience levels ranging from 2-14 years,” said Mr Pradeep Bahirwani, Vice-President, talent acquisition, at Wipro Technologies. Mr Bahirwani said the company has released recruitment advertisements across the country to inform applicants of this drive. “We encourage applicants to apply directly to us and not fall prey to fraudsters who have been misusing company names and duping candidates,” Mr Bahirwani said. For the September quarter, Wipro had seen a net decline of 630 in its headcount at 97,891. Wipro has also taken this opportunity to stress the company’s hiring policy and stated that it does not charge any fee at any stage of the recruitment process. “For B.Sc., BCM and BCA students graduating in 2010 we are commencing hiring for our Wipro Academy of Software Excellence (WASE). We are inviting applications through our career site and will be calling eligible students for a national entrance test soon,” Mr Bahirwani said.
