‘Give cultural dimension to shopping fest’

Our Bureau

Kochi, Nov. 11 Purogamana Kala Sahitya Sanghom has called upon the people to make the upcoming Grand Kerala Shopping Festival a success, as it transforms the State into an international shopping destination and also strengthens its cultural progress.

Applauding the vision of development through revitalising the trade sector, noted writer and State President of the Sanghom, Mr U.A. Khader, said that the State Government should also take steps to uphold the tradition of renaissance movements in Kerala as part of the Shopping Festival.

“Following in the tradition of the ancient port city of Muziris, which was a model of trade and culture for the entire world, the shopping festival can also be used to showcase our cultural eminence as well as progress in the spheres of arts and literature,” he said.

This shopping festival is unique in the sense that it gives equal opportunity to both small-scale and large-scale trade establishments along with manufacturers in the State.

Since GKSF is spread across Kerala, the entire State will be in a festive mood and the organisers should utilise the local cultural environment to create a unique flavour to the festival, he said.
