Vizag port strike continues

Visakhapatnam, Nov. 23

The strike in the Visakhapatnam port by the workers of the cargo handling division is continuing and the talks held on Monday in the presence of the Assistant Labour Commissioner could make no progress, according to union sources. The port authorities have asked shippers and stevedores to engage private labour to take up loading and unloading. The strike began on Thursday in protest against the implementation of the manning scales.
