The Kalady-based Sisira Automobiles, leading bus body builders, has embarked on major diversification aimed at bringing out hi-tech outdoor broadcasting (OB) vans and mobile medical units.

The company, which has already supplied a series of OB vans to leading TV channels in Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, will shortly enter into a long-term tie-up with the Delhi-based Telegrad, suppliers of hi-tech equipment and accessories for OB Vans, the company's Managing Director, Mr S. Sura, said in a press release.

Sisira has already supplied its fully equipped hi-tech mobile medical units, including mobile dental units, to medical institutions such as Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala for catering to the medical needs of the rural population. These units have fully equipped pharmacy, doctor's consulting room and other facilities on board.

Meanwhile, the company's sister concern, the Sisira Travels has launched its Kochi-Bangalore tourist service with hi-tech luxury buses fitted with tubeless tyres and wheel discs imported from Korea.
