Meru Cabs looks to double fleet size

Shubhra Tandon

Mumbai, Nov. 29

Radio taxi service Meru is looking to double its fleet size in the next one year from the current 3,800 taxis. The fleet enhancement is in line with the company's plans to go to Kolkata and Chennai in the near future and also augment its existing capacity.

Meru is also researching on the demand for radio taxi service in smaller cities. “The study is going on currently to identify the requirements for tier II and tier III cities. Do people require bigger vehicles like Innova or smaller cars like Indica, are some of the aspects currently under consideration,” Meru's newly-appointed Chief Executive Officer, Mr Rajesh Puri said.
