Outlook Yukthi optimistic on Linux market Our Bureau
BANGALORE, April 18 WHEN Yukthi Software started in 1996 offering services on a Linux-based platform, there were few takers. Currently, there is a combined effect of more awareness of Linux and companies looking harder at cost-effective solutions that are driving sales of their solutions, according to Yukthi CEO, Mr Ramakant Jawalkar. The start-up operates on a very small scale, but has managed to sell its solutions to companies such as Sony India, Home Trade Ltd, Aspect Development, Titan Industries, Aalayance, Blue Star Ltd, Customerasset, CTP, iSeva, Bharti BT, Verifone, and Tejas among others. ``Linux has come a long way, it is very user-friendly and contrary to what many perceive, it is not a command line driven but has a GUI interface which is as good as Microsoft,'' Mr Jawalkar. Yukthi offers mail servers, bandwidth management, firewalls, intrusion detection, filtering services, all based on Linux.
